美（び / Bi），is often used to refer to art itself, or the fine arts. This is also Malt, Grain & Cane's ongoing series of collaborations with esteemed Japanese artists. 

Chisato Tanaka has pioneered a unique technique of painting foregrounds in glossy oil on a flat, jet-black background using acrylic paint. Her work combinescontradictory elements, such as the smiling or angry expressions on the faces of her subjects, and the shimmering landscapes in the jet-black background, to stir up the imagination.

Her paintings leave a strong impression for the viewer, the first time they are seen. She has also previously collaborated on multiple whisky bottling in Japan; mainly with Whisky Talk Fukuoka.

This barrel  has spent most of its maturation time in a Refill Sherry Barrel, and was reracked & finished in an Oloroso sherry barrel for 16 months.
